Coaching Staff

Brian Baxter United coach seven years; National 'C' License; 20 years coaching experience; head of United's Sports Psychology program; Masters Degree in Sport Psychology, Owner and Director of BaxterSports Soccer Camp; four-year starter at Wofford College (SC); played club ball for North Florida Express in Gainesville, FL.

Brian Bauman has been a THUSC coach for three years. He holds a National D license and has been a Positive Coaching Alliance finalist. Brian has worked as a competitive coach and club board member in Oregon for over 12 years. He started and built the Aloha Youth Soccer development program--started with 20 kids and grew to 6 teams (4 girls and 2 boys teams). Brian took a group of recreational players and turned them into a competitive soccer team that won Presidents cup, won OYSA Division 1 league with a one-loss season and was promoted to OYSA Premier Division the following season. His team competed with the top clubs in Oregon by focusing on the technical aspects of the game. Several of his past players are heading off to college next year to play Division 1 soccer. Brian has played soccer his entire life and continues to play in men's leagues around Portland.

Juan Flores -USSF National "E" License, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching. Juan is from Gervais Oregon and grew up playing soccer for Woodburn Athletic Futbol Club. During his time with WAFC his team made the state semifinals twice. He also played for Santos FC for a couple years in which they were able to reach the state final. In high school he was a four-year varsity starter with Silverton and Gervais High School. As coach Juan has been an assistant head coach for four years at his hometown school Gervais High School. He joined Eugene Timbers FC in the Spring as a Little Timbers Academy Coach, and also served as the assistant coach for the U12 Boys Marseille White.

Juan graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Sports Management. Four Time Letterman for High School Varsity Soccer (2008-2012), 1st Team All-League (2012), Captain of High School Team (2011-2012), State Cup Finalist (2011), Chinook Cup, Nike Cup, Adidas Cup Champion

Scot Hale United coach ten years; National 'C' License; National Soccer Coaches Association of America Goalkeeping Diploma Level 2; three years Linfield College goalkeeper coach/assistant coach; boys varsity coach Newberg High School 2006-10; played two years at Mesa Community College (AZ); played two years at Linfield College; 18 Years coaching experience; 30 playing experience.

"My focus is for players to enjoy the game, to be equipped with tools that will benefit them later in life, to challenge players to step outside their comfort zones and find success, and for each player to have a strong rate of development. With athletics you learn more than just the sport you learn about life lessons and I do my best to teach and role model these lessons daily."

Angela Harrison has been a coach in the Portland area for the last 15 years for Lake Oswego SC/Crossfire until last Fall. A NSCAA Advanced National Diploma holder, as well as a USSF Goalkeeping license holder, her primary coaching focus is working with goalkeepers. Players she has worked with have been selected to USSF Youth National Teams, Region IV Teams, as well as going on to play at the college level of their choice. She is also an accomplished team coach, working with teams that have placed in the top 4 in regional championships and won Surf Cups. She has been a Region IV staff coach, an Oregon ODP staff coach, and been invited as a guest coach at several camps and clinics across the country as an assistant coach with the University of Portland. She holds an MBA from the University of Portland and volunteers her time to coach immigrant and refugee children with the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization of Portland.

Karin Hatch Sixth year coaching for United; played for THUSC from 1999-2006, was a member of the 2004 State Finalist team THUSC Mercury, United's first finalist of this era; three year letter winner in soccer and four in track at Beaverton High School; three year letter winner in both soccer and track at Pacific Lutheran University, competed at the Division III National Track & Field Championships in javelin in 2007; nearing completion of Master's degree in Sport Psychology.

Zach Roloff THUSC Coach for 3 years. Zach has a National C License and Youth National License. He has been coaching soccer for the past 10 years. Zach has advocated for dwarfism for the past 13 years on the show Little People Big World and through soccer. He captained the USA soccer team to a silver medal in the 2009 World Dwarf Games and gold medal in 2013. Has enjoyed playing the game all his life through high school and after that has devoted most of his time to becoming a better soccer coach.
