Thanks to all our coaches and volunteers who reviewed applications and helped determine recipients among a large, competitive group of applicants!

Financial Aid Information

*THUSC's need-based scholarship fund is limited. Please apply early! Late applications will be reviewed, but funding may not be available. Applications received before tryouts will be reviewed/awarded first.

THUSC believes that all children should be able to play soccer, regardless of their family's financial situation. Families in need are provided the opportunity to play through our need-based scholarship program. If you know the posted club fees will be a hardship on your family, please apply for financial aid. THUSC will review each application, keeping all information confidential. All need-based applications for financial aid will be considered. No full scholarships will be awarded. Recipients will be awarded partial amounts and will agree to pay the remainder of the fees. Financial aid recipients will receive all of the same benefits as their teammates. As such, THUSC expects your child and your family to participate in all team and Club activities.

Financial Aid Application requirements:

1. Complete this online financial aid form.

2. Soccer Essay: (handwritten or typed) stating what soccer means to you and why you want to play for THUSC

3. Submit the required financial paperwork, essay and application fee to the Club.
    Mail to:

515 SW Saltzman Rd #821, Portland, OR 97229
or e-mail digital copies to
[email protected].

4. Complete online player registration with the Club

5. Pay $50 application fee (Select applicants pay a $20 fee) This is in lieu of your $20 tryout fee.

If you apply and receive financial aid, you are entering into a legal contract with THUSC. The Club will not issue a player card until your contract is signed and returned to the Club. If you are approved for aid, you will need to pay your balance off monthly. Missing two payments, may result in your player card being revoked until you pay. If you are unable to pay, it is your responsibility to contact the club ([email protected]) immediately and explain your circumstances.

If you decide to leave THUSC during the year, you will forfeit your scholarship and be expected to pay the full posted club fee. THUSC will not release your player card to any other club until you pay off the entire fee plus any amount owed for team fees. If you pay by check, the club will wait until the check clears before releasing your card.

If your child is injured and unable to play (a doctor’s note is required) or you move more than 100 miles from THPRD (proof required), or have significant life event (after approval by the board) you will be required to pay your original scholarship amount in order to release your player card.
