THUSC is proud to offer one of the few SELECT programs in the area. THUSC Select is a recreational+ program for players who are looking to compete at a higher level than a traditional neighborhood recreational program, but are not ready for the dedication and intensity of the full-time year-long Competitive membership. The Select program is for players who have demonstrated consistent success at the neighborhood recreational level.

Registration for the THUSC Select membership occurs on a seasonal basis, unlike the annual enrollment schedule for THUSC Competitive teams. Due to the seasonal nature of Select membership enrollment, consistency in rosters, coaching staff, training schedules and locations, and travel for league games cannot be guaranteed.

Select seasons (separate registration events)
SUMMER/FALL: June-November (6 months)  *NEW for 2021* - includes fall OYSA Founders Cup entry fee and team training in November.
SPRING: February-April (3 months)

THUSC Select teams play in Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) competitive leagues within the lower league division levels 2 or 3, as assigned by the THUSC Select Director. If a team finishes in the top half of their division, divisional movement will be considered by the THUSC Select Director. 

At the Select level, we do require the Select coaches to ensure players get at least 25 percent of available playing time over the course of the season. The only exceptions to this are in keeping with stated team rules, such as a failure to practice, disciplinary action, or player sickness/injury; in circumstances such as these, Select coaches can fall below the 25 percent requirement.

THUSC Select Membership Includes:

  • Seasonal registration (team formation)
• THUSC Select Director
• League fees: league admin charges, field rental fees, referees, etc.
• THUSC/OYSA/USYS Player Card and Insurance
• THPRD grass field access for 2x week team training (1.25 hours each) and home games
• Club administration (player and team registration, rostering, player cards, scheduling, communication)
• Team Snap Premium subscription
• Athletic training support from Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists
Including Access to the Healthy Roster Program

additional tournaments are optional and additional fees collected by team treasurer.

Tournament expenses for Select teams (entrance fee, travel, room/board, team activities) are not covered by Membership Fees (see below) and are estimated and collected per team by team treasurers.

Coaches for the Select program are volunteers.

Select Team Formation Policy

One team per age group will be formed after Select tryouts.

Select teams will not be formed until the following criteria are met:

1) A THUSC Premier/Competitive team must exist in the age group.

3) A minimum 11 players per team have registered and membership deposits paid by the established deadline for that season.

THUSC team fundraising events are encouraged to offset player expenses.
Parent volunteers are expected to organize and run team fundraisers.
