Tualatin Hills United Soccer Club

Our U15-U19 Competitive Program is one of the final phases of development within our club. This program rounds out our foundation of youth programs, offering the serious soccer player the opportunity to continue to advance their skills and understanding of the game. Our primary goal in working with players at the high school level is continued building and now refinement of each player's technical development and proficiency in a number of skills; putting a greater emphasis on tactical understanding with broader team understanding of the game. We also aim to continue to build the player's love and enjoyment of the game as a player and spectator, teaching players how to watch and analyze games to increase their own knowledge and understanding of the game.

At this older age group, there is going to be a greater emphasis on team outcomes, while maintaining a focus on team improvement and lessons learned from both winning and losing.

U15-U19 Competitive 9-month* Program includes:

  • Professional Coaches, both for team and specialty training
Winter League
Participation in either OYSA State Cup, OYSA President's Cup or Founder's Cup (one OYSA tournament per team)

NOTE: Tournament expenses for players and coaches (entrance fee, travel, room/board, team activities) are not covered by Program Fees (see below) and are estimated and collected per team by team treasurers.

U15 (2006) SCHEDULE NOTE: Players who will be U15 in 2020-2021 (born 2006) should recognize that they are now considered "high school" age even if they are still in 8th grade for school. The spring league schedule that you may be accustomed to ENDS at U14. For U15-U19, teams compete in a WINTER league, which begins in January and ends early March. March through early May usually consist of training and OYSA Cups (Founder's, President's, or State). 8th grade U15 players are not allowed (by OYSA rules) to compete in U11-U14 spring league as they are considered over-aged.

What does a U15-U19 Competitive 9-month* team's schedule look like?

A typical year in our club is designed with periodization in mind to maximize individual improvement along with team success.

  • May: Tryouts for all age groups
  • May through July: Team trainings and tournament participation (local and/or travel-varies by team)
  • August through early November: 3 month club break for players who play for their high schools
OR continued* team trainings and OYSA U15 Fall League for 8th graders and those not playing for their high school
*an additional $150 fee will be charged to U15 (2006) players who OPT IN to fall team training and/or league participation.
mid-November: Supplemental Tryouts - opportunity to add players who did not tryout earlier in the year.
December through February: Winter training schedule (combination of Technical Performance and team training)
NOTE: Teams will enter a futsal league, but this is not part of club fees—it is an additional cost per player, collected by team.  • March through early May: Continued team training schedule | OYSA Spring League | State Cup for Premier level teams

When are scheduled club-wide breaks?

THUSC generally follows Beaverton School District's calendar for club breaks during the school year. Coaches are given some discretion to change this schedule on a team-by-team basis. If a team needs to prepare for an upcoming competition or tournament, coaches may decide to train during a club-wide break.

  • Memorial Day
July 4th - typically the full week is off
Labor Day
Thanksgiving - full week off or possibly Wed-Fri
Winter Break - follows BSD schedule (training break, but futsal league overlaps)
Spring Break - follows BSD schedule

Our full program details and club policies can be found in our Club Handbook.
