We arrived in Daejeon yesterday with hopes of attending the South Africa v Spain game. Finding three tickets together at good prices was impossible; Tom bought a ticket but Jaime and I were relegated to a pub (HOF in Korea) across the streat from the stadium to watch the game on television. This was the first time in over a dozen tries that I was unable to get a ticket to a World Cup game. The ticket office had stacks of unused tickets, but the workers seemed more concerned with counting their money then getting people into the stadium. Too bad, really, as the game was a good one for the most part.

France and Argentina have been eliminated from the Tournament, making quite a few happy bookies around the world, as they were the top two favorites before the start.

Now we are awaiting a 1:15 train to Suwon to attend the Brazil v Costa Rica game. Our regional federation (CONCACAF) is so far undefeated, the only remaing federation without a loss. Costa Rica will have a tough time keeping that record tonight, but not impossible.

Daejon is the smallest and most smog free city in which we have stayed so far. We are due to stay in Seoul tomorrow night, but hope to change our hotel arrangements so that we can stay in Daejeon following the United States game against Poland.

World Cup fever, especially for the Korean team, seems stalled here. There are far fewer 'Be The Reds' shirts worn by locals. This should change in the coming hours before tomorrow's match.

Enjoy the games.

Jaime, Matt and Tom
